Great place to stop off and have a beer. They had some absolute crackers, live music, and a BBQ to boot (I think it was a Friday when I went).
Coming down from Brisbane to visit the mother in law and knowing there's not much to offer by way of breweries we were very excited to find out about black duck. A little concerned that they didn't do lunch their *nibbles* menu was more than enough. The ploughman's was generous and delicious and the dukka with oil was scrumptious. They really do take to heart "live local" . I was amazed by their prices too, they really should be charging more for the quality that they give. Next time we're down we'll be going over and waddling home. Thank you black duck!
My wife and I called in one afternoon from Taree having heard good things. Hayley was very friendly and helpful. Our 2:00pm brewing tour guide was very enthusiastic in his presentation which was enjoyable.I had two beers which were fantastic. In my growing - but admittedly laymen - knowledge of different beers, I didn't feel they quite fit their descriptions, but that didn't diminish my five star rating because they were great in their own right!I went for an American Pale Ale. To me, it was far hoppier than expected. It was verging on a gentle IPA. But a top pale ale, none-the-less.I asked about what beer was closest to a porter as I dislike typical stouts for their richness but enjoy the toasty flavours of a good porter. Hayley pointed to the stout rather than the black beer, which surprised me. I hesitated due to the description of stout. But, sure enough, it was absolutely stunning! I'm not sure what, technically, defines a beer as a stout or porter. But I'd definitely pick this as a porter. Maybe it's just me.Again, these differences didn't bother me one bit. I'll certainly return. And I'll certainly recommend this location to others.
Went to the new bar in town and it was so relaxed. Great staff and very helpful. It was so nice not to have unnecessary security walking around intimidating people like the macca. Thumbs up!! Some
Nice little brewery with a cool atmosphere and delicious snacks. The beer is great and the staff are very easy going
